Plan what you will eat based on what you already have, or shop beforehand to avoid any last minute grocery shop visits. It’s less stressful if you can simply prepare what you have planned without thinking, and you will know that you have all the ingredients already in the kitchen.
Today’s world is moving fast. We don’t have time to pause and take a breath. Specially on a Monday morning, it’s like a war zone. But if we try to put a few things in order, it will ensure that our week goes by smoothly. Yes, no doubt we want to relax and enjoy on weekends, that’s fair. But if we can devote some time for below tips, our mornings can be smooth for workdays too.
1. Sort/Tidy-Up Your House:
Do the chores around the house. Empty all your bins. Clean and keep ready all bedding required for the week ahead. Throw towels in the washing machine. Clean out the fridge and restock. Put everything back where it belongs and purge old newspaper and magazines. Completing these simple tasks will give you a lot of breathing space in the coming week.
2. Plan your meals for the week:
If time permits you can batch cook and freeze all dinners for the coming week.
3. Plan your clothes for the coming week:
While getting ready in the morning for office, we spend precious minutes of time choosing our attire. Sometimes the dress you want to wear isn’t ironed, or it still needs washing, since you wore it last time. Even worse you know which clothes you want to wear but you can’t find them.
It could be really wonderful, if you can take out a little time on weekend to give a little thought to what are your commitments for coming week and what would you like to wear for those. Then simply do a cupboard check and get your clothes in order. If something needs ironing or cleaning, you know it beforehand. This can be done for each member in the family and coming week will be sorted.
This process can also include other clothing that you may need like party, gym, outing, etc.
4. Schedule your social media for the week:
If you’re a fellow blogger, I like to do almost all of my social media posts on weekend. so I don’t have to constantly think about it during the week. You can check and clean you inbox and reply to any comments or feedback received.
5. Sort other “things”:
Check your diary/calendar for upcoming events in the family. Any upcoming birthdays or anniversaries. Cards/Presents ready to be posted in case of upcoming occasion. Anything needed by the children for school (Projects, special costume, art and craft materials, etc…)
Drop/Pick up dry cleaning.
This list is small because weekends are the time to relax, rejuvenate and enjoy too. When you’re working, be at work. When you’re at home, be at home. Be present and stay focused on what is in front of you. Schedule your week and time around what you value the most.
